PUBG Owner Krafton buys Subnautica Devs Unknown Worlds!

Krafton Inc. (PubG) wants to take over Unknown Worlds Entertainment, the makers of Subnautica and Natural Selection. The planned acquisition is intended to help South Korean publishers to expand and diversify their own gaming portfolio. Structure and leadership of Unknown Worlds should be maintained after the acquisition to preserve the creative identity of the studio, it is said in the announcement. In addition to the ongoing updates for Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero, Unknown Worlds is currently working on a new, genre-defining game, which is to go 2022 in the Early Access. Another subnautica game is unlikely (according to an interview at the beginning of the year). Unknown Worlds is then the Sixth Independent Play Development Studio of Krafton - together with the PubG Studios, Striking Distance Studios (The Callisto Protocol), Bluehole Studio, Risingwings and Dreamotion.
