Riot Games, Valorant has seen a pretty strong response, although it is only in the Closed Beta. On the first day, impressive 1.7 million calls were recorded by Twitch, and the developer's experience with competitive multiplayer games seems to pay off. In a new development diary, the technical director Dave Heimonymus and the technical director David Straily talk about the technical aspects of the online game.
Valorant will use 128-tick rate server, which is a pretty big lead over titles like oWatch. The development team also expressed very loudly on aspects such as cheats and corner peeks that could adversely affect the online experience. We will see how all this is out of a closed beta environment.
Valorant is currently under development for the PC and will be released this summer as a free title. Other upcoming titles from the studio include Runeterra_, a digital CCG published on April 30, and projekt L., a fighting game with liga of legends figures.
