If you find the Sesame Street more scary, you should leave the fingers of My Friendly Neighborhood
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a comic publication collection that was published by Marvel Comics. The title is originated from a hallmark self-referential remark frequently made by Spider-Man (as in just another solution supplied by your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!). The series started in October 2005 and was largely written by Peter David. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was canceled after problem # 24, part 2 of J. Michael Straczynski and Joe Quesada's debatable One Even more Day storyline. Kurt Busiek has actually revealed that in 1995 he initially recommended Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man as the title of the series which was eventually published as Unimaginable Stories of Spider-Man. He believes that this selection of title added, at the very least partially, to the relative market failure of Untold Tales.
With My Friendly Neighborhood, a new game appears on Steam, which is based on classical horror survival titles like Resident Evil. However, the special thing is the setting. This is strongly inspired by the Sesame Street. A strange mix? Definitely!
What is this for a game? An actually decommissioned television studio radiates again the popular children's series The Friendly Neighborhood. But instead of looking for friendly alphabet songs and counting vampires, the dolls of the series are eating each other. Something is not correct.
In My Friendly Neighborhood, you play the technician Gordon, who should go to the strange signals. Arrived in the studio, you quickly noticed that it is not old charisma, but about completely crazy dolls.
Through different puzzles you have to fight through the non-linear levels. While you try to figure out what's going on here, the serious slits and friends attack you.
The style of the dolls strongly reminds of the sesame road and even if they eat them, they still have a disturbing way ... friendly.
Who comes from the game? My Friendly Neighborhood is developed by the Indie developers John and Evan Szymanski. John Szymanski has previously published on Steam popular indie titles such as Kyle Is Famous or Rubber Ducky.
John, also known as Ducky Dev, is also streamers on Twitch (via twitch.com). On his channel he shows all sorts of games and also gives insights into the technology of Games.
However, he was hardly active in recent years - probably because he was busy developing his play. On Twitch he has 344 follower and in the last 90 days on average 2 spectators (via Sullygnome.com).
Puzzle and ballers: Resident Evil meets the sesame road
These are the features: My Friendly Neighborhood is a core a horror survival game. You should reveal a scary secret and survive, similar to the classic Resident Evil. Features include:
- Various puzzles that solve it
- Different, colorful opponents
- non-linear levels that you have to navigate you
- Creative, unique weapons like the Rolodexer, which shoots with alphabet cards
Derived from what has been shown to play so far, My Friendly Neighborhood is strongly reminiscent of classic horror survival games. It wants to work less with blood and intanges and more with real horror.
So far my friendly neighborhood is announced as a pure singleplayer title. Whether there will be a multiplayer or co-op function, we do not know yet.
